Virág Kaufer is awarded the ‘Heroine of the Year Award’, a social responsibility award that is part of Glamour Magazine’s ‘Women of the Year Awards’ in Hungary. Virág Kaufer is Greenpeace International's Senior Portfolio Manager in Climate and Energy.
Virág accepted the award in honour of all the women who stand up for their rights, the future of their children and our planet. At the award ceremony, she said that through her work at Greenpeace she meets many heroines tackling the social and environmental problems caused by climate change and fighting for clean air, water and soil.
In the picture, Virág is holding up a Greenpeace banner which translates to ”Well behaved women seldom make history.” Virág urged the audience to transcend their limits since now is the time for women to take leadership alongside men, and lead by example, as this is the only way to win the war against climate change.
Virág has also received a special award from Nissan EV division for her extraordinary work for the environment.
