Over 600 cyclists participate in the "Solar Ride" in Athens. The activists are demanding the Solarization of Greece, not only as a solution to climate change but also to the Greek financial crisis. With energy poverty being one of the most dramatic symptoms of the Greek crisis (6 out of 10 households are struggling to pay their energy bills), investing in the abundant amount of daily sunlight, the country’s biggest asset, will be key to a Greek recovery.

From the waters of the Arctic to the beaches of Indonesia, thousands are taking part in a Global Day of Action to demand the phasing out of fossil fuels and nuclear energy, and the transition to 100% renewables.
The Global Day of Action, under the banner of Actions for Climate, is supported by more than 100 environmental groups across the world, including Coalition Climat 21, CAN, 350.org and Avaaz. It is part of several days of activities inspired by the UN summit on the Sustainable Development Goals, one of which is the need to protect the planet from catastrophic climate change.
