Protest at Endangered Species Advisory Committee Meeting in Hong Kong
More than 30 activists, some dressed in vaquita costumes, gather at the venue of the bi-annual meeting of the Endangered Species Advisory Committee in Cheung Sha Wan forming the number ‘57’ in reference to the dwindling population of the vaquita, the world’s rarest porpoise. Other protesters swarmed the 7th floor office of Hong Kong's Agriculture, Fisheries, and Conservation Department (AFCD) displaying models of smuggled totoaba fish bladders and messages of support from Hong Kong residents.
