Hundreds of people protest in front of the Sendai nuclear plant. After almost two nuclear free years, the owner of the Sendai nuclear power plant, Kyushu Electric Power Company, decided to switch on the Sendai reactor unit 1. A majority of the Japanese people have continuously been against the restart of Japan’s nuclear reactors. But the government and the utilities push for their restart despite of unresolved seismic, volcanic safety issues, and Japan’s overaging reactor fleet.
