Greenpeace activists are demonstrating at the headquarters of the energy company RWE in Essen for the rapid shutdown of the first coal-fired power plants and the preservation of the Hambach Forest as well as the villages threatened by the expansion. The activists are demanding a moratorium from RWE CEO Schmitz, to stop any destruction in the villages and in the forest until the plan for the German coal exit has been decided.
