Greenpeace Projection at Hamburg Speicherstadt
Greenpeace activists project the future high water level at Hamburg's historic Speicherstadt (warehouse district). The new high water mark of almost eight metres above normal is to be expected as a consequence of climate change during storm tides.
Activists in inflatables display a banner which reads 'Climate Crisis - sea water levels rise'. The IPCC 'Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate', due to be published on 25th September, warns of an accelerated sea level rise by 2100.
