Eleventh Fire Drill Friday in Washington DC
Jane Fonda and activists occupy the floor of the Hart Senate Office Building as an act of civil disobedience during the eleventh Fire Drill Friday. Inspired by Greta Thunberg and the youth climate strikes Jane Fonda has moved to Washington, D.C. to be closer to the epicenter of the fight for our climate. Every Friday through January 2020, she will be leading weekly demonstrations on Capitol Hill to demand that action by our political leaders be taken to address the climate emergency we are in. We can't afford to wait. Speakers for week eleven include:
Heather Toney, First African-American, first female and the youngest person to serve as Mayor of Greenville, Mississippi, at the age of 27;
Laura Seydel, Jane's stepdaughter, and Director of the Environmental Working Group;
Casey Wilson, Actress, Comedian and Screenwriter;
Anabell Castro Thompson, Nurse Practitioner and Senior Vice President of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Equality Health;
