Displaced People after Floods in the Central African Republic
Desiré himself sleeps on his porch, leaving the inside for the more vulnerable women, one of them being pregnant, and children. Désiré Ndoumba, a 50 year-old father of 8, hosted around 50 of his neighbours when the floods invaded their homes. At first they sleep in the back of his house, on a small portion of land spared by the waters. When it rained, all 50 people would fit in his house. Now only 30 people remain, and as the water level dropped, they have a bit more space to sleep. He lives in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic.
