Brazilian Indigenous Leaders Meet with Dutch Politicians in The Hague
A delegation of eight Brazilian indigenous leaders and Greenpeace meet with Dutch politicians from Groenlinks, D66 and Partij voor de Dieren to discuss deforestation and human rights violations in Brazil. The eight indigenous leaders believe that it is up to Dutch politicians and companies to stop the massive destruction of nature for soy plantations, among other things, and the increase in violent incidents and death threats. The leaders from the Amazon, among others, are currently touring in Europe to engage in dialogue with politicians and the business community. As Europe's largest soy importer, the Netherlands has an important responsibility.
