Because of its clear waters and large concentrations of fish, Lake Leonardo is one of the preferred fishing sites for the Munduruku. But the fishing conditions on site could be profoundly altered if the Brazilian government follows through with plans to build a complex of large hydroelectric dams on the Tapajós River.
