A woman described as "erratic and aggressive" rammed into a US Capitol Police vehicle and reportedly tried to hit officers on foot outside of the Rayburn House Office Building and the Botanic Gardens on Independence Avenue near the Capitol. Shots were fired by officers but the suspect was taken into custody and no injuries have been reported. The suspect's motive is still in question.
