Demarcation Demand for Munduruku Protest in Brasilia
A protest is led by leaders of the Munduruku Indigenous People in front of the Brazilian Justice Palace in Brasilia to demand the demarcation of the Sawré Muybu Indigenous Land on the Tapajós River in the Amazon. The action was supported by Greenpeace Brazil and the Conselho Indigenista Missionário (Cimi). They used the phrase "Demarcação Ja" (Demarcation Now) and placed 180 arrows representing the deadline - which expired on November 28th - for the Ministry of Justice to announce the official recognition of the Munduruku land.
