'Not Just Tuna' Action in Washington, DC
Greenpeace activists at a Walmart Store in Washington, D.C. The activists removed cans of Great Value, Chicken of the Sea and Bumblebee tuna from the shelves and left a sign apologizing to shoppers but informing them that 68 cents (.60 euro) is a high cost for ocean life and that Great Value canned tuna is destroying the oceans and may put workers at risk. The activists placed the shopping cart with the stores tuna cans in another part of the store and gave a letter to a Walmart manager asking them to urge the world's largest retailer to change its source of tuna from Thai Union which is linked to human rights abuses and destructive fishing practices.
