Coral Reef in Andaman Sea
Andaman sea, Satun, Thailand. Under the productive waters of the southern Andaman sea of Thailand, colonies of gorgonian sea fans (Melithaea sp.) thrive on concrete structures deployed as artificial reefs in Pakbara, Satun province, Thailand. With such high recruitment of corals on these concrete structures, the artificial reef project of Pakbara has eventually become similar to a natural reef, providing habitat to various species of marine life inhabiting the area.
