Coal fired power station Lippendorf with cooling towers and steam behind steeple of village Poedelwitz. The seven hundred years old village with partly listed buildings is threatened by open pit mining Schleenhain which is run by the Mitteldeutsche Braunkohlengesellschaft (MIBRAG). Mibrag plans to extract the coal resources situated beneath the village and therefore remove Poedelwitz.
