Stop Expanding the Nuclear Business Press Conference in Korea
In a press conference, Greenpeace Climate and Energy Campaigner Mikyoung Kim urges Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to halt their plan to buy Toshiba’s stake in the UK nuclear project “NuGen”. Julia Sokovicova (Greenpeace Energy Expert), Jiyeon Lee (Climate and Energy Campaigner) and Jongo Yun (MP) also attend the press briefing at the national assembly.
Greenpeace East Asia Seoul and the National Assembly Caucus on Post-Nuclear Energy (NACPE) co-organized the press briefing. NACPE is comprised of 28 congressmen of Korea. South Korea is the only OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) country actively expanding its nuclear power business.
