Activists Block Entrance to RWE Coal Plant in Eemshaven
Greenpeace activists, including the executive director of Greenpeace Netherlands Joris Thijssen block the coal ship ‘Paquis’ which plans to unload coal from Russia for the largest coal-fired power plant in the Netherlands. The blockade is accomplished by stretching a rope above the water between two wind turbines on either side of the harbour and attaching three Greenpeace activists to the middle of the rope. The activists are hanging ten metres above the water.
