El Niño Impacts in Northern Thailand
Organically grown chilli peppers at the Techaphan Tamturakit Chaona Tammachard company Limited farm at Sanpatong district, Chiang Mai province.
The farm was built to create a learning center where the farmers can experience and be able to learn ecological permaculture farming practices. Thailand and the Philippines, being highly vulnerable to extreme weather events like El Niño, have an urgent need to transition the region’s food and farming system to a new, more climate resilient and ecological farming system for Southeast Asia’s food and nutrition security.
