Vessel Morne Blanc in the Indian Ocean
Activists in a Greenpeace inflatable bear witness to the French purse seine vessel Morne Blanc operating in the Indian Ocean. The Morne Blanc has two crow's nests and a total of six binoculars used for spotting FADs (fish aggregating devices) and tuna at sea. Greenpeace continues on an expedition in the Indian Ocean to peacefully tackle unsustainable fishing. The expedition is exposing destructive fishing methods which contribute to overfishing and harm a range of marine life including sharks and juvenile tuna.
