Imperial Shags in the Beagle Channel, Argentina
Flying imperial shags (Leucocarbo atriceps) in the Beagle Channel in the Argentinian Patagonia, declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Currently under threat due to the imminent installation of Norwegian salmon farms, with huge aquatic cages where thousands of Atlantic salmons are introduced. This not native species only survives thanks to the excessive antibiotic treatments that will contaminate one of the cleanest and most pristine areas of the planet.
