Demonstration at the Hambacher Forest near Koeln-Buir for a quick coal phase-out and for the rescue of the Hambacher Forest. In the largest march of its kind to date, 50 000 people participate in the march under the motto of "Save the forest! Stop coal". Antje Grothus (Buirer für Buir) gives a speech. The initiative Buirer for Buir, the German Federal Association for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND), Campact, Greenpeace and the nature friends of Germany call for a quick exit from coal. They demand of the energy group RWE to stop logging in the Hambach Forest.

Die Grossdemonstration mit 50 000 Teilnehmern "Wald retten-Kohle stoppen" nahe der Waldkante ist die bisher groesste ihrer Art. Die Initiative Buirer für Buir, der Bund fuer Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND), Campact, Greenpeace und die NaturFreunde Deutschlands fordern gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmern von der Bundesregierung einen zuegigen Ausstieg aus der klimaschaedlichen Kohle und vom Energiekonzern RWE einen kompletten Verzicht auf die Rodung des Hambacher Waldes.
