Woman Living near Vandvaerksgaarden Factory Farm, Denmark
For more than 20 years former high school teacher Bente Joergensen and her husband, chemical engineer Soeren Hansen, have lived in an old rural house only 100 meter from the industrial pig farm Vandvaerksgaarden in the small village of Tingerup.
ente cuts the roses with her face mask on. When the smell is strong, she always wears a face mask when working outdoors. The house of the roof is green from algae.
Bente says the smell is so awful that it makes her feel sick, that her head aches and her eyes are red and swollen. Bente feels, that their lives are destroyed because of the smell, noise and dust from the farm.
