Many tarry residues were found on Chinase beach, since the authorities haven’t started cleaning operation. Within an hour, Greenpeace team saw several tarry residues washed up shore by waves. Amami-City, Amami Oshima Kagoshima Japan.
Greenpeace Japan sent a team down to Amami Oshima where the tarry residues is washed ashore to conduct bearing-witness and to hear residents' concerns.

国際環境 NGO グリーンピース・ジャパンは、2018年1月6日に東シナ海で貨物船と衝突し、漂流後に沈没した石油タンカー「Sanchi」から流出したと思われる油が、鹿児島トカラ列島の海域に漂流したことを受け、2018年2月12日から14日にかけて鹿児島県奄美大島に滞在し、油の漂着物の状況確認と住民への聞き取り調査を行った。
