Inspection in PMFS AUTEF 273005/2017, in Uruará, Pará state. In October 2017, Greenpeace accompanied teams from the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) in a series of inspections of Sustainable Forest Management Plans (PMFS) in western Pará state. The operation goal was to identify fraud in forest inventories, such as the indication of nonexistent trees or overestimation of the volume of wood. Nonconformities were found in all plans visited. The field verification corroborates the report "Imaginary Trees, Real Destruction", which exposes the fragility of Brazil's PMFS licensing system, which allows illegal timber to be sold in the national and international markets. 

Vistoria nos PMFS AUTEF 273005/2017, Uruará, Pará. Em outubro de 2017, o Greenpeace acompanhou equipes do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (IBAMA) em uma série de vistorias a Planos de Manejo Florestal Sustentáveis (PMFS), no oeste do Pará. O foco da operação era identificar fraudes nos inventários florestais, como a indicação de arvores inexistentes ou superestimação do volume de madeira. Foram encontradas inconformidades em todos os planos visitados. A verificação de campo corrobora com o relatório “Árvores Imaginárias, Destruição Real” que expõe a fragilidade do sistema de licenciamento de PMFS do Brasil, que permite que madeira ilegal seja vendida no mercado nacional e internacional.
