Air Pollution Art Exhibition in Bangkok
Visitors look at art installation, titled Memory, which is displayed at Greenpeace’s ‘Right to Clean Air - The Art Exhibition. This piece features life-sized depictions of a child, mother and elderly man. It was created using paper mache, which was then covered in dust collected from various areas in Thailand.
The art work is created by a Thai artist, Ruangsak Anuwatwimon and exhibited at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center. It aims to raise public awareness on the impacts of air pollution and calls upon the Pollution Control Department to upgrade Thailand’s Air Quality Index (AQI) and to enforce preventive measures on microscopic dust particles smaller than 2.5 microns (PM 2.5) in order to protect public health.
