Group Action Day in Luebeck for an Antarctic Sanctuary
Members of the Greenpeace volunteers group in Lubeck place a sign reading: "Weddell Sea 14,502 Kilometers" during the Group Action Day for the protection of the Antarctic. In combination with an information stand the group highlights an historic opportunity for marine conservation: in Autumn 2018, the Antarctic Commission CCAMLR (Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources) will decide on the creation of the world's largest marine protected area in the Weddell Sea.
72 volunteer groups in 75 German cities are taking part in the Group Action Day.
