Barramundi Fish in southern Thailand
A hand-caught Barramundi, (Lates calcarifer) is seized by an artisan fisher from Thepha in the mangrove forest of Khlong Tu Yong in Thepha district Songkhla province, Thailand. The biological richness of mangrove ecosystems help sustain the livelihood of Thepha's local fishers and neighboring communities. Yet this critical and fragile habitat is being threatened by plans to develop a 2,200 megawatt coal power plant project in Thepha district.
