Sawdust Artwork against Tempo in Switzerland
Greenpeace activists create a huge image using sawdust on the Münsterplatz in Basel. The picture depicts a modified version of the famous Woodcutter, by artist Ferdinand Hodler, who instead of holding an axe holds a chainsaw. Afterwards, the activists have also unveiled the message "Tempo: Stop Wiping Away Forests". With this authorised activity, Greenpeace highlights the unsustainable logging practices carried out by Essity, the manufacturer of Tempo paper tissue products, in protected boreal forests.
Greenpeace calls on Essity, the world’s second-largest tissue producer, to clean up its supply chain and stop wiping away the forests.
