A man crosses an hanging bridge in Gunung Palung National Park, a protected area and natural habitat for the orangutan. Orangutan’s natural habitat in this province is threatened by deforestation and forest fires caused by palm oil concessions.
Gunung Palung is now also a research area for the Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program operated by Yayasan Palung.
