Action against MOX Fuel Shipment in France
Greenpeace activists demonstrate against the first of two convoys of MOX fuel scheduled this week, containing approximately 900 kilograms of plutonium. The MOX fuel was transported from the AREVA reprocessing plant in La Hague to the port of Cherbourg during the night. A total of 1,8 tonnes of plutonium in MOX fuel will leave France by ship on 6 March with destination Japan. The activist holds a banner reading 'Stop Plutonium'.
