Action on Coal Ship Federico near Spain
Greenpeace activists board the ship Federico which is carrying a cargo of Colombian coal, bound for the port of Algeciras. The activists hold banners reading 'Zapatero: Stop Climate Change' (Zapatero: Paremos el Cambio Climático). Greenpeace is asking José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, chief of state, not to invest in coal but to put all his efforts towards a fair, ambitious and legally binding climate treaty. The action is held during UNFCCC Climate Change Talks in Barcelona. These meetings are the last negotiating session before the historic UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009 (COP15).
