Greenpeace volunteers put shoes at the Binnenhof Square, which is the square in front of the houses of Parliament. Puting shoes is based on a Dutch tradition in which children can set their shoe for the arrival of a saint called: "Sinterklaas", every year in December. Children fill up their shoe with a carrot and a wish list. The last months Greenpeace received through the You turn the earth campaign 180.000 calls for a strong climate agreement for the Climate Conference in Copenhagen. Greenpeace combines the arrival of the saint with this action to show the politicians how many people wants great deals for the climate.
