Action against Whaling in the Hague
Greenpeace demonstrates against whaling in front of the Dutch Parliament in the Hague. Greenpeace demands that the Dutch government takes action to stop the so-called scientific whaling of Japan. The Dutch government is discussing the position of the Netherlands within the International Whaling Commission. Dutch Minister of Agriculture Veerman recently declared that he is looking for another compromise with whaling countries. According to Dutch Greenpeace spokesperson for the Oceans Campaign, Bart van Opzeeland, a compromise won't stop the hunt for endangered whales.
