Indigenous Nenet Woman in Yamal Peninsula
Mrs Ysengi, an indigenous Nenet woman inside her Chume (Tepee). The Nenets people are herders and move every 3 or 4 days so that their herds do not over graze the ground. The entire region and its inhabitants are under heavy threat from global warming as temperatures increase and Russia’s ancient permafrost melts.
