Reindeer Herder in Yamal Peninsula
An indigenous Nenet man carries wood on a sledge pushed by reindeer. The Nenets people are reindeer herders and move every 3 or 4 days so that their herds do not over graze the ground. The entire region and its inhabitants are under heavy threat from global warming as temperatures increase and Russia’s ancient permafrost melts.
