Probo Koala Banner Action - Baltic Tour (Baltic Sea: 2006)
An activist from the Arctic Sunrise climbs the mooring lines of the cargo vessel Probo Koala with a banner in French saying "Toxic Trade Kills" on the second day of Greenpeace blockade of the ship.
On 19th August this year the Probo Koala unloaded a toxic waste shipment in the West African town of Abidjan, Ivory Coast. This shipment killed seven people and poisoned another 44,000 people. Greenpeace calls on the Estonian government to detain the vessel and demands that the EU Commission and the member states ensure that the ship is held until a full criminal investigation is carried out. The Probo Koala has become a vital piece of evidence in the toxic investigation.
