Fisheries in the Western Pacific Ocean
Multitudes of fish trapped in a purse net from Japanese fishing boat, Eikyu Maru. Purse nets are towed out from a small powerful boat from the mother ship the net is pulled in a large circle encompassing all fish in it's path the net is then drawn together like a purse. False Killerwhale near net eats escaping and dead discarded fish thrown from fishing boat. Greenpeace tour aimed at highlighting the over fishing of the Pacific Ocean by foreign distant water fishing fleets. The tour specifically focuses on the mass depletion of Tuna stocks and the severe consequences this has created for local fishing communities.
