Nuclear Free Seas Action Rosyth Naval Base in UK
The Moby Dick began a tour of nuclear naval bases around the British coast as part of Greenpeace's Nuclear Free Seas campaign. The launch coincided with the publication of a Greenpeace report that called for a radical reassessment of emergency procedures in the event of a nuclear accident at the Rosyth naval base in Scotland, a dockyard that refuels and maintains nuclear-powered submarines and is the home port for four Type 42 destroyers capable of carrying nuclear depth charges.
