Toxics Action Waste Barrel Returned to Novartis
Greenpeace activists returned “Barrel nr 5”, filled with contaminated water from the toxic dump site in Bonfol, to the headquarter of Novartis. The activists want to point out that the chemical companies are unwilling to clean up their toxic dump site in Bonfol. Activists are dressed in costumes portraying a ‘manager’ on the front and ‘death’ on the backside. These costumes symbolize the double standards of the mega-multinational Novartis. The banner reads in German: "Bonfol Fass nr 5: Novartis hat mit Kultur nichts am Fass. Die zwei Gesichter der Chemischen Industrie." or translated: Bonfol barrel nr 5: Novartis has nothing to do with culture. The two faces of the chemical industry."
