Fruit of Brazilian Nut Tree
Nilson collects the fruit of the castanheira (Brazilian Nut Tree) that he sells as a way of living. He is a member of the MST Movimiento Sem Terra (workers without land). He has to pay between 10 and 30% of what he makes to the fazendeiros who own the land where the trees grow. If he doesn't collect the fruits nobody will, but he still has to pay to access the land.
Greenpeace document a number of areas in the Amazon, looking at people, natural wildlife and the impact that the soya industry is having on the rainforest landscape.
