Apple and Cherry Farmer in India
Sangeeta is a farmer in Pamalahi village and explains "We want to grow more cherries, because they need low maintenance, are climate proof and make more profit. I have been telling my father that we should switch to cherries completely." The shift from apples to cherries farming is due to global warming, which is decimating the apple production.

Climate Voices from Farmers in India
Among many others in India and elsewhere, apple farmers are being heavily affected by climate change impacts. Due to global warming, erratic weather patterns have decimated the apple production affecting the local economy. New hail phenomena is destroying the harvests and the farmers are increasingly having to use protection nets over their trees.
