A farmer with his cattle near the village of Chancleta, located close to the Cerrejon open cast coal mine. His livelihood, primarily based on small-scale crop and livestock farming, has been totally disrupted by mining operations. The soil on his land is so contaminated that it is difficult to grow crops necessary for survival while water supplies are contaminated and unfit for consumption.
