Activist Inspects Tuna Catch on Philippine Fishing Vessel in the Pacific
An activist inspects juvenile yellowfin and skipjack tuna in the hold of the Philippine mothership Kenken 888. The vessel has transferred the catches of six purse seiners at sea over the past month and was documented with a pirate purse seiner in close contact. Yellowfin and bigeye tuna are suffering from overfishing. Greenpeace is calling for the pockets of international waters between Pacific nations to become marine reserves.
