Toxics Action and Solar Energy Campaign in Thailand
A Greenpeace action in Thailand helped local villagers of the Prachuab Khirikhan province to build solar panels. They also labeled and denounced a site in the area as a toxic site where a Japanese incinerator is located. In addition, Greenpeace directors from all over the world joined the communities of Ban Krut and Acham Sulak Siwalak to support their movement against the construction of coal-fired power plants in the area. In the image, Gerd Leipold, Greenpeace International Executive Director, signs the banner that reads: "Clean Energy Now!". The banner was given to the community of Ban Krut to support their movement against the construction of coal-fired power plants.
