Blockade Action of Plutonium Fuel Plants in Belgium
Greenpeace blockade of Belgium's two biggest plutonium fuel plants, state-owned Belgonucleaire and private French firm FBFC, Dessel. Activists chained themselves to the gates and blocked the road between the two plants. The plants are planning to double output in a contract with Japan and would ship up to 500 tonnes of the fuel (mix of plutonium/uranium oxide) around Europe and to Japan by the end of the decade.
