Iceberg in Greenland
An iceberg made of densely formed ice, shows light transmitted through it. This suggests that it is older than the other ice formations surrounding it. Its co-ordinates are: 65degrees 55m North, 37degrees 55m West. Sermilik Fjord, next to Ingmikerteq Island, near the mouth of Johan Peterson Fjord. South Eastern Greenland.
Greenpeace and an independent NASA-funded scientist completed measurements of melt lakes on the Greenland Ice Sheet that show its vulnerability to warming temperatures. The measurements are the last scheduled activity as the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise wraps up its two-month expedition to document
the impacts of climate change on Greenland's ice sheet and glaciers.
