Protest against Castor Transport in France
Greenpeace activists are arrested after they chain themselves to the railway of the train transporting CASTOR nuclear waste from La Hague to the intermediate storage in Gorleben. The CASTOR (Cask for Storage and Transport of Radioactive material) is a train convoy carrying eleven 100-tonne containers of radioactive waste. Measurements of these containers show that the radioactivity in each one is higher than what was released at Chernobyl in 1986 - this makes the CASTOR transport effectively a Chernobyl on wheels. Includes soundbite from Greenpeace Campaigner, Andree Boehling.
