Detox GAP Projection in Jakarta
Greenpeace activists project images with the message "GAP be bright #Detox our water" onto the exterior of a shopping mall in Jakarta demanding that GAP and other big fashion brands commit to zero discharge of hazardous chemicals in their supply chains. Greenpeace is calling on big brands to work with their suppliers around the world, in eliminating the use and discharge of hazardous chemicals into our water sources. A Greenpeace International report titled "Toxics threads: polluting paradise" revealed the dumping of toxic and hazardous chemicals directly into the Citarum River by the PT Gistex Group, supplier to International fashion brands, such as GAP, Banana Republic and Old Navy.
