Greenpeace activists closed down Kingsnorth coal-fired power station near Rochester in Kent. They immobilised the conveyor belt that carries coal into the plant by hitting emergency stop buttons and chaining themselves to machinery. A second group climbed 1000 steps to the top of the chimney and painted the word Gordon onto the outside.
