Gwangan Bridge Activists Bike Ride in South Korea
Four Greenpeace activists ride bicycles to the communities living within a 30km radius of the Kori Nuclear Power Plant, the oldest such plant in South Korea. The activists hold a banner showing the distance from the plant to the community. The bike ride will end at Haeundae beach in Busan. The four activists have been charged due to their protest activity on Gwangan Bridge (also known as Gwangandaegyo) on the 9th July, to raise public awareness on the dangers of nuclear power and call for an improvement of the current nuclear emergency plan.
